5Q's w/Ashley Zeiger "I Mustache You" Director

#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?

A woman, struggling with demons, is on a journey to self love through the language of silent physical comedy.

#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?

This was written and filmed before the pandemic hit, and finished in post production during covid times remotely between creatives in 4 states. It's amazing to me how there are so many parallels between how Abby navigates the world and pandemic life, and it was never meant to be that way.

#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.

I've been a working actor for many years in various TV shows(Bull, The Plot Against America, The Last OG etc.), many indie films and various theatre projects Off Broadway and Regionally. I started writing and producing my own work including "JOE" (available on Amazon and Tubi) and "The Red Lotus" (that played this festival a few years ago!) Then I started directing my own work too and made "Secret Feminism", "The Homemade Sketch Show" (my remote pandemic sketch comedy series available on Tubi), and "I Mustache You". I'm currently working on the feature version of "The Red Lotus" and a pilot called "Oy a New Comedy Series" and am looking for investors and producing partners to make those happen.

#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?

That a single shot on the Staten Island Ferry will definitely take you on a 3 hour detour to Staten Island. (It was a happy accident though because coming back we were able to grab a shot including the statue of liberty which made it so much cooler).

#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?

This film has gotten into 7 festivals so far and growing so we'll see. I'm writing and auditioning and hoping to find folks to make some bigger projects with. Follow the film's journey via my socials or #IMustacheYouFilm
