#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it?

VIRTUALLY is a sci-fi love story – if you love science fiction or romance or you wonder about what it means to be human or you are a human being, you will enjoy this film.

#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?

Although VIRTUALLY is a science-fiction film set in a post-apocalyptic world, at its heart this is a love story about personal connection and what it really means to be alive.  It’s touching and sometimes funny and hopefully will make you cry and laugh (maybe even at the same time).

#3: What is your movie making background?  Tell us about yourself.

I am a filmmaker who lives in Los Angeles, California with my wife, Krista, (who produced the film), and our three kids, two of whom walk on two legs and the third who is furry and four-legged and barks excitedly when I come home.  I love telling stories that touch, move and inspire people and this is my third award-winning film and my first foray into science-fiction, a genre that I have loved since I saw Star Wars as a little boy.  I’m also a highly accomplished supervising sound editor and currently the sound supervisor for the TV shows “Roswell, New Mexico”, “Sacred Lies” and “Cobra Kai”.

#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?

Working with good people who are good friends not only makes the filmmaking process more enjoyable but also makes the finished project a better film.  I set out to make this film with friends and family (my wife produced it) and it was such a blast to make art with the people I know and respect and love, instead of strangers.  The other big lesson I learned was if you make a movie that you would enjoy as an audience member, all the decision-making is much easier and the audiences will also enjoy your film that much more as they will be able to sense the commitment and passion you yourself have for the film.

#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?

We have a sales agent for the film and are currently negotiating various streaming and distribution rights for VIRTUALLY – look for it on your favorite streaming websites!  As for me, I have two additional short films I hope to shoot in 2020 – one is a romance and the other is an edgy, black-comedy whodunit.  I’m also working on two feature scripts – one of which is the sequel to VIRTUALLY and the other is a never-before-told true story.
