Director Biography - Rich Underwood
Rich Underwood is a documentary director/dp & interviewer based in San Diego, California. Rich creates content for the healthcare, tourism & home improvement industries as well as a few public service and passion projects along the way. He holds an MFA and teaches the Advanced Cinematography and the Advanced Film Production courses at San Diego State University. In addition he’s taught at the Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, Maine. As an author, he wrote the highly acclaimed “Roll! Shooting TV News” published by Focal Press. Rich also designed the “Birdcage Lantern” available from Chimera Lighting. In the documentary short world, Rich’s film “Racing Hearts” started his festival quest with 2 Official Selections. The next entry was “Anna” with 11 Official Selections, 4 Finalist showings and 2 Wins. He continues to film a documentary anthology series about inspiration and hope within the direst circumstances of people’s lives. Rich’s film submissions highlight emotional storytelling in short form.
