5Q's w/Garfield Miller "Percy vs. Goliath" Writer
#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?
It’s a true, inspirational David & Goliath story about an independent farmer’s battle against Monsanto for the right to save his seeds.
#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?
The film was a labor of love that took over 16 years to make.
#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.
I have been working in film and TV, scripted and non-scripted for about 20 years. For me, it’s all about telling entertaining stories that have social significance. I was born in Borrego Springs, so having this film screen here in front of a “hometown crowd” is very exciting for me. It means a lot.
#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?
Anything’s possible if you commit yourself and never give up.
#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?
The film is currently available internationally and doing well. Of course, the big hope is that more and more people see it, but I have no specific expectations for the film beyond that. Personally, I am currently working as a Senior Story Producer on a documentary series for Discovery + that will be released in February, and am in development on a couple other personal projects.
