5Q's w/Alexandros Kakaniaris "The Dude" Director
#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?
Because you really want to see what the greatest Dude of the neighborhood is up to!
#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?
That kids such as the Dude exist for real, and as a matter of fact they have to survive in far more difficult and hazardous situations than those depicted in the film.
#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.
I am a film director making a living as an AD and a set manager for the past few years. I have also directed some tvc’s. This is my first short after I graduated from film school.
#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?
That you can make a film without any money, but it is impossible to make a film without any friends.
#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?
The Dude is still on his way visiting various festivals around the world. When he is done I will devote all my time and energy on my first feature.
