#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it?

The film is about a chief and his signature dishes. It tells the marine debris issue, which is one of the most devastating environmental problems in the world.

#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?

The title “Selfish” means lacking consideration for other people literally, but most of the time, I feel human beings are lacking consideration of our environment and other living things. When we engulf delicious seafood, we also produce tremendous human wastes, letting them flow into the ocean, and they contaminate our ocean and choke numerous of sea animals.

#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.

I have traditional painting background for over 15 years. When I was about to go to college, I found digital media and visual storytelling have unlimited potentialities, thus I choose my major as animation, learning storytelling and 2D animation. Now I study post-graduate animation at Sheridan College in Canada, focusing on rigging, and look development.

#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made? It is impossible to make an artwork perfect, but can be close to.

#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?

I think it is challenging to change a habit, especially the things people do everyday; but I hope after watching this film, people could think about how to make a much more environmentally-friendly lifestyle.
