Community Panel "Borrego Film History With Fred Jee"
THURSDAY JANUARY 12th, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., BORREGO SPRINGS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The Anza Borrego Desert has been a place that has captured the imagination of homesteaders, explorers and first people who found the landscape both a challenge and a wonderfully intriguing place to live and explore. Film makers have also discovered this desert region as a place to create a new place to tell their cinematic stories.
This panel hosted by local film maven and community legend, Fred Jee, explores some of the final creations of film makers from the past who, intrigued by the landscapes, found the possibilities to create their iconic stories now captured forever in their films.
We’ll look at several films made over the last few decades to give glimpse of the variety of films made here and some background information of those films and their creation. It will be a nostalgic walk in the past for many who saw these films or a discovery for those who did not know they were made here.
