How do BLOCKS and BLOCK PASSES work?

QUESTION: Can you please explain how the screening schedule works. For instance, on Thursday, I see “Block A | 4:00p,” and there are several films listed. Are there specific start times for each film? Is one able to see just see one movie?

ANSWER: We sell PASSES for really cool collections of films. So, when you go to a block you’ll see multiple movies, not individual flicks.

It’s really kind of awesome. You can buy a BLOCK PASS online (or at the box office directly for any unclaimed seats) and that will get you into a screening that typically lasts between 90 minutes to 2 hours.

For example, if you have a PASS for BLOCK A, you show up 15 minutes early to claim your seat, and when 4:00 comes around you get to sit there and watch all the movies for the next two hours.  And, when the films are done, we let the filmmakers come on stage and do a Question&Answer with the audience.

There will always be various films screened during a BLOCK.  Sometimes it’s numerous short movies, other times it’s a short with a feature length film.
