You say movies? We say Borrego Springs!

2024 has been quite a year for film in Borrego! This summer, we saw a major Hollywood motion picture shooting here, with multiple A-list actors, but more importantly, we celebrated the 11th year of the BSFF!

If that’s not exciting enough, our parent organization, the Borrego Springs Film Institute (BSFI), has begun presenting movies at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center (BSPAC), free of charge, every other Wednesday night to enthusiastic audiences. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we plan to continue the bi-weekly free movie program in the coming year!

The Borrego Springs Film Institute is proud to present the Eleventh Annual Borrego Springs Film Festival which will take place on January 11 – 15, 2024.  The five-day festival presents selected feature films, shorts, documentaries, animated shorts, and international films, which are shown in Blocks at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center (BSPAC).  Festival passes and tickets for individual screening Blocks will go on sale, beginning December 15, 2023, at borregospringsfilmfestival.org, and a complete schedule of the Screening Blocks can be found there, along with film descriptions and trailers.

For the last nine years, the BSFF Committee of volunteers has presented one of the most fiercely independent film festivals in the country, producing live screening events even during the recent years of the pandemic!  “To say we’re thrilled to be announcing our tenth annual festival, is an understatement,” said Fred Jee, chairman of the BSFF Committee.  “We’re excited to be marking our first decade with an amazing slate of films submissions, as well as an increase in our community presence during the year!”
