5Q's w/Alex Tello “The Miracle Wolves” Director, Producer

QUESTION#1: Can you describe your film in one sentence?

4 Wolves dig a 15 foot hole and survive one of the worst forest fires in California history.

QUESTION#2: What would you like the BSFF audience to know about your film that they wouldn't consider from it's title?

I would like them to know that this is an ongoing series where we focus on rescuing exotic animals from private ownership. The first episode documents the story of 4 wolves who survived one of Northern Californias worst forest fires and now are living in a beautiful habitat in Arizona.

QUESTION#3: Can you tell us about yourself and your filmmaking career?

I started my filmmaking career back in 2001 working for major post production companies such as Technicolor and Deluxe studios. After a long career in post, I decided I would start shooting my own films. In 2009 I made my award winning short film, The Mustard Stain. After it was well received by many film festivals I decided to continue and create a documentary about animal sanctuaries after a visit to one that changed my life. Since then my focus has been on animal welfare. In 2010 I started filming my feature film Furthest from the Wild. In 2014 it was picked up by Vision Films and distributed nationwide. The film won several awards throughout the years. While traveling with the film, private investors reached out to us and funded the new series based on the same name. We now have 5 episodes and we are in negations now to distribute the series worldwide.

QUESTION#4: What have you learned in the process of making your film?

I have learned to respect animals more and treat them like I would like to be treated. Animals are not here for our entertainment. We should never exploit them for monetary purposes. We can co exist by educating ourselves.

QUESTION#5: What's does the future hold for this film and you?

We plan on creating more episodes and distribute the show to a major network soon. Our goal is to expand furthest from the Wild to a large franchise with more documentaries as well as books merchandise etc.
