5Q's w/Prataya Saha "Just Another Day" Director
#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?
Through this film you will learn the horrific after-effects of abuse and societal indifference towards a person going through it, making it tougher for them to heal.
#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?
In a nutshell, I would like the audience to be prepared to see some glaringly cruel and bitter aspects of human nature which is surprisingly given or accepted or less talked about in society, although it is everywhere around us.
I also want to press on the fact that not all forms of cruelty is gore, some are subtle and unseen but equally damaging.
#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.
I am an independent filmmaker, Tedx performer, theatre director & photographer based out of India. With a panache for writing and photography from childhood, I finally delved into film-making in early 2016 after leaving a lucrative corporate job.
Over the last five years, I have made 10 films that have been in over 70 film festivals winning over 15 awards around the globe. Most of my films revolve around issues faced by women or have a female protagonist aided by a crew where women hold important positions like as a writer, asst. director, cinematographer or producer.
Many of my films are streaming on multiple OTT platforms, including the likes of Disney+Hotstar, Starzplay, etc.
#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?
The single biggest lesson as a director I have learned is that you are not bigger than your crew and film-making is a collaborative art that needs everyone to be a good team player irrespective of their individual talents.
#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?
The future looks good. The film has done exceptionally well in some of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals around the globe and won over 6 awards. We are expecting the film to be streaming in a major OTT platform soon.
