5Q's w/Marcellus Cox "I'm Sorry" Director

#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?

It's a story of 2nd chances & brotherly love and folks should see it if you value family no matter what.

#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?

For me personally I want folks to understand what people from other cultures who don't have the same opportunities in life go through on a daily finding a way to survive and make somewhat of a basic living a normal reality and help make their dreams come true. I also want folks to realise the importance of family, a lot of times if not majority of the time we're all we got and have to stick together through thick and thin, no matter the situations life throws at us.

#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.

#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?

Personally I learned what my real love of storytelling is and that's real stories that have a in-depth and personal meaning that almost anyone or everyone can relate to no matter your race, religion or sexual orientation. I love stories that have a deeper meaning in life that and can speak to the heart of the soul for people especially those who don't have this platform to showcase it so it's a even greater honor and responsibility to tell these kinds of stories.

I also learned that if I want something I will go work for it at any cost. I didn't have the funds to make this film and I was out of a job at the time so I had to sell some if not all of my film equipment which only came out to $900 so I made the entire film from start of pre-production all the way to post on only $900 dollars and I'm beyond proud of the results. And because of it's National Television Airings I've made 4 times my budget back lol so that's a even greater feeling.

#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?

Well 2021 will be it's last year on the circuit. It's been playing since 2019, it's played in 85 Festivals winning 22 Awards and it'll be playing on Television again so it's coming to a end but it's a unbelievable ride. At the moment I'm working on my Proof Of Concept Short - MICKEY HARDAWAY which is currently playing on the Festival Circuit and will be working on getting the Feature Version Made. But I am beyond grateful to everyone that helped make I'M SORRY possible it's been a great time with this film and working with Maynard Okereke and Cedric L. Williams.
