5Q's w/Kushida Takeshi "Voice" Director
THURSDAY BLOCK A | 4:00 PM
#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 280 characters?
Although the film's title is VOICE, there is no dialogue and no music. Because I think that the film gets powerful when the audience's internal voices are added onto the screen.
I hope that the audiences enjoy the cinematic pleasure with VOICE.
#2: What do you want the Borrego Springs Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?
VOICE is a no dialogue film, so which needs the audience's internal voices to be completed.
So please add your own voice onto the screen.
You may find that there is a universality of people in this world which cannot be described with the words.
#3: What is your movie making background? Tell us about yourself.
I started my career as a dance film maker. I have gradually widened the style for 15 years. Now I am making romance-horror-narrative-experimental-dance film.
#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?
The film is completed by the audience.
#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?
The film will be in US tour from February to December 2019 as a part of Black Maria Film Festival. I am currently working on my first feature film which will be completed in early 2020.
