#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?

Marvin reminds us that our lives can be productive, fulfilling and satisfying.

#2: What do you want the Borrego FilmFestival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?

"Marvin: His Life and Art at 102" is a brief look into the life of 102-year-old Marvin Cohn, who is an inspiration and a joy to everyone who meets him. He stays active, reading three or four books a week, exercising, and painting, which he does for an hour or so each day.

Marvin’s mind is as sharp as a tack and he is incredibly articulate. His older brother Arthur is 104 and living in New York.

#3: What is your movie making background?  Tell us about yourself.

I spent my early years learning about cameras, lighting, exposure and composition by taking thousands of still pictures and making several short movies. After studying film and television at UCLA, I worked for several years as a documentary cinematographer. I also was an instructor at Columbia College teaching film and lighting. Today, in addition to making films, I manage a photography business that specializes in architectural photography.

#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?

You are only as old as you feel.

#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?

I hope to find venues in the Palm Springs area where the film can be shown, perhaps as part of a larger event that speaks about staying active and productive in later years. I am now in production on a documentary about an after school program that offers art classes to young children.
