5Q's w/Elizabeth Rial "Closing Doors" Director

#1: Can you describe your movie and why somebody should see it in less than 140 characters?

My short is a fun little piece about a woman named Amanda who breaks up with the guy she’s dating over breakfast.

#2: What do you want the Borrego FilmFestival audience to know about your film that isn’t obvious from its title?

It’s a film about not settling and creating the life that you want.

#3: What is your movie making background?  Tell us about yourself.

I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelors in film.  After moving to California I found myself working in entertainment business & legal.  In 2013, I made the bold decision to switch my career back to my passion of writing and directing and I have been making short films working my way up to writing and directing a feature.

#4: What was the biggest lesson learned in getting your film made?

Trust your instinct.

#5: What does the future hold for your film and you?

This upcoming spring, I am directing a new short titled “Blink” written by Janice Kennedy about a serial killer in prison. I will continue to submit “Closing Doors” to festivals as well.
